Matt “Coco” Hancock has apparently entirely misunderstood repeated calls for him to “get the sack” – after being spotted in a clinch with his aide.

The “hopeless” 42-year-old Health Secretary has admitted breaking social distancing rules and apologised after being caught on camera kissing millionaire mum-of-three Gina Coladangelo, 43.

Both are married. But Coco isn’t the only MP who has made a clown out of themselves with their sexual antics, as James Moore reveals…

Paddy “Pantsdown”: Also in 1992 Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown admitted having a five-month affair with his former secretary, Patricia Howard.

But the ex-Royal Marine’s wife Jane stood by him. Paddy kept his job and even got a boost in the polls.

Basic instinct: The Tory Government’s “back to basics” campaign backfired spectacularly due to a series of scandals that kicked off with the 1994 resignation of Environment Minister Tim Yeo.

He was exposed as fathering an illegitimate child with Conservative councillor Julia Stent.

Cooked up: In 1997 Labour Foreign Secretary Robin Cook revealed he was splitting up with his wife Margaret while at Heathrow Airport, after being advised that revelations about his private life were about to break.

Eggstra-marital: Tory Health Minister Edwina Currie became infamous for quitting over the salmonella in eggs scandal in 1988.

She later made the nation cringe by revealing that she had a four-year affair with future PM John Major, while both were married.

Home goal: Divorcee David Blunkett had a three-year affair with married Spectator magazine publisher Kimberly Quinn and fathered a child by her.

The relationship ended in 2004 and the fallout saw him resign as Home Secretary.
