Police have been trolling the notorious gangster twins known as the ‘Cheshire Krays’ with a billboard showing what they will look like when their sentences are over.

The digital impressions show Leon and Anthony Cullen when their near 50-year combined jail sentences for cocaine and guns come to an end.

The 33-year-olds, who were sentenced to 22 and 27 years imprisonment, were displayed on a billboard paraded around the pair’s hometown of Warrington in an attempt to deter other criminals from offending.

The ad shows the doctored images of the older looking men side-by-side with the caption: “Was it really worth it?”

Detective Chief Inspective Mike Evans, of Cheshire Police, backed the poster campaign, telling Metro: “People may think it’s a quick and easy way to earn money to lead a lavish lifestyle but that is far from the reality.

“The consequences of being involved in the supply of drugs and firearms are worlds away from that.

“Instead you become embroiled in violence and debt and are constantly looking over your shoulder.”

The officer believes that other young men will have once looked up to the pair who have been compared to the 1960s Kray twins for running a 20-strong gang involving weapons, violence and intimidation.

However, he hopes the poster will help people see them in a new light as he added: “We want them to look at them in a different light and see the true reality of where organised crime takes you. Is it really worth it?”

The news comes as Leon was finally jailed last week having been extradited from the United Arab Emirates after he fled the UK when detectives raided the criminal enterprise.

Anthony had been arrested in January 2018 along with 19 of their associates.

Between June 2016 and January 2018, detectives believe over 50kg of cocaine was supplied across Cheshire, North Wales and the North East.

Officers seized £205,680 cash, over two kilos of cocaine, an AK47 machine gun, a pump-action shotgun, automatic pistols and revolvers.
