A pregnant mum was savagely attacked by her partner in the street after her 28-week baby scan.
Kerry Bamber was just 20 when her ex subjected her to the horrifying onslaught.
The woman had to escape to a women’s refuge with her baby and only now has she found the courage to open up about the assault.
She told the Liverpool Echo about the repeated physical and emotional abuse.
Even after the vicious street attack, he would turn up at her home and even threatened to burn down the house before he was later jailed.
Now 34, Kerry is speaking up with the aim of helping victims after setting up a charity to help women subjected to domestic abuse.

The charity called AIM Northwest aims to work with perpetrators of domestic abuse in a bid to prevent offending before it happens.
The mum-of-three, who is now happily married following the trauma, said: “At first I didn’t realise I was in an abusive relationship.
“All of a sudden it became violent and it was only then that I realised, even though that was actually the last thing.
“Before that I was definitely subjected to emotional and psychological abuse.”
She added: “It was very complicated because in my head even though I knew what was happening was wrong I really wanted things to work.

“I had in my head what the perfect family was and knew that if the relationship ended that would be over.
“It sounds silly now but I wanted things to work.”
After his release, the courts granted the man access to their son, who is now 13.
He has been a “good dad” ever since, she says.
But Kerry stressed things only began to change after her ex partner was jailed.
She added: “After everything that I went through I’m happy now with three amazing children and a lovely husband.
“Hopefully I can help others on the same journey.â€
