Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s donation to homeless mums in Los Angeles will help charity Harvest Home’s mission to support pregnant women and their children in LA.

The generous donation is part of charity Harvest Home’s Million Acts of Love Campaign.

Each year Harvest Home helps up to 30 women and their families through its residential programme.

The charity is set to launch a second home which will provide housing to accommodate 18 mothers and their children.

The delivery by the Archewell Foundation was arranged with the Sussexes’ partnership with Procter and Gamble.

The charity wrote on Instagram: “Pallets and pallets of diapers…we are so grateful!” the organisation wrote on Instagram.

“These diapers recently arrived at our new Pico-Robertson Home and we could not be more thankful to the Archewell Foundation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and @proctergamble and @pampersus for the incredible donation through their Million Acts of Love Campaign.

“Thank you helping us ensure that our moms and babies have all they need in our homes!”

The pair have agreed a multi-year global partnership with the company and this is thought to be the first initiative from the partnership since it was announced in May.

The two Royals first announced that their Archewell foundation was working with Procter and Gamble on Mother’s Day when the Duchess of Sussex was expecting Lilibet.

“As a mom, and an expectant mom, I deeply appreciate the significance of community support, safe and accessible pregnancy resources, and trusted guidance in a nurturing setting,” Meghan Markle wrote in a letter.

“These ingredients are essential to not just our physical health, but our mental well-being, and I commend you for leading a compassionate community that lives these values.”

“Thank you for all you do for the women and mothers who are turned away elsewhere, at no fault of their own.

“When we consider how vulnerable any mother feels during the fragile time of pregnancy, we gain perspective about how especially difficult it can be for pregnant women of colour and those who come from under-resourced and vulnerable communities.

“I hope you will accept an offer of support to help further uplift Harvest Home’s residents.”

The Royals said the partnership centres around “gender equality, more inclusive online spaces and resilience and impact through sport”.

Their goals with the partnership is to “build more compassionate communities” as the Sussexes are determined to bring a more “just future for women and girls”.
