Prince Harry ‘won’t punish’ George on birthday despite Wills rift and will ‘send gift’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are likely to reach out for Prince George’s birthday despite their rift with his parents, a royal expert has claimed.

Tensions between the couple and Prince William and Kate Middleton – formerly called the Fab Four – have been strained since 2018.

They only seem to have worsened since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey was broadcast in March.

However, Brittani Barger, Deputy Editor of Royal Central, believes the couple will still get in touch with the Cambridges’ eldest son.

She told the Daily Star: “No matter the issues William and Harry have with one another, George is still Harry and Meghan’s nephew and a child.

“They aren’t going to punish him but not reaching out and talking to him when he’s just a child.

“I’d say they will call and/or send him a gift as I’m sure they did for Louis and Charlotte.”

Kate and William have already released a sweet picture of George to mark the occasion.

However, Brittani believes they will keep other celebrations “private” – especially given the abuse George received on social media after appearing at Wembley during the Euros.

She added: “They are no doubt unhappy with the abuse sent toward George after the Euros final.

“However, they are still releasing a new photo of the Prince for his birthday.

“Any type of celebrations they have will remain private as they are keen to keep all of their children out of the spotlight where they can so they can have normal childhoods.”

William was reunited with Harry earlier this month as they unveiled a statue of their late mum Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace.

The brothers chatted and smiled as they paid tribute to Diana on what would have been her 60th birthday.

They released a joint statement, part of which read: “Today, on what would have been our mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength, and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better.”

“Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.”

The Duke of Sussex stayed for a polite drink after the event ended at 2.45pm, it is claimed.

However, he was driven out of the palace grounds just 20 minutes later, according to the Daily Mail.
