Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have followed in the footsteps of “trendy” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with the reveal of their son, a body language expert told the Star.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughter confirmed the name of her first born on Saturday, following the birth of the boy on February 9 2021.

The couple waited just over a week to let the world know, but said their child’s moniker is August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.

Alongside a sweet message of thanks, Princess Eugenie shared two images of herself, Jack and little August to Instagram.

In the pictures, Jack can be seen holding baby August as a beaming Princess Eugenie stands proudly by his side.

The images are reminiscent of the first picture seen of Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as the Duke of Sussex held his child up to the camera with Suits star Meghan to his right.

The image is a “much more modern” taken on fatherhood in the reveal of son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank

Body language expert Judi James told the Daily Star both Jack and Prince Harry are showing father’s to be “a lot more responsible” unlike other “Royal men” who have been “notoriously hands off” with their children.

Ms James said it is likely Jack and Eugenie followed a trend “sparked” by Prince Harry and Meghan, and are happy to be “much more modern” than what has traditionally been portrayed.

Comparing past pictures of Prince Charles with Prince Harry and William, in which Princess Diana held the boys, to that of William and Kate Middleton with their three children, Ms James claims Harry’s decision to hold Archie was “revolutionary”.

Harry’s decision to hold Archie was “revolutionary,” an expert claimed

She said: “Royal men have been notoriously hands off with their children, if you look at past pictures of Prince Charles with the boys, it was Princess Diana who held them.

“Prince Harry definitely sparked a trend, it was revolutionary, his photograph with Archie because it wasn’t pictured as though Meghan gave him the baby to hold, he was the one holding the baby and looking after it and cradling it.

“It was almost a role reversal, Meghan was standing proudly beside him. It was a more modern and quite a big breaking point in a way, I think what Jack’s doing in this image probably came from Prince Harry’s trend”.

Ms James said that Jack is showing he is a “hands on” dad in the image and “part of the process,” not just on the mother’s side as Prince William was in pictures following the birth of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

She also noted that Jack is holding August well and said it is probably “quite tricky and nerve wracking” for a new dad to hold the baby and tilt it toward the camera, but said he seems “pretty comfortable and confident doing so”.

The body language expert added: “It shows the father as being a lot more responsible, hands on, part of the process and again, he’s holding August well, it’s quite tricky and nerve wracking to hold the baby and tilt it toward the camera.

“He looks pretty confident and comfortable doing it so I would imagine he would have had some experience with children in his family and clearly he has a beam of delight on his face and as far as I imagine it was Harry that sparked that trend a little bit.”
