A road sign outside a hospital has sparked ridicule for listing the A&E department along with a crematorium.
Residents joked about the site being a “one-stop shopâ€.
Others claimed it had not been thought through properly, while some called it inappropriate, YorkshireLive reports.
The sign directs people to Scarborough Hospital’s main entrance and A&E department.
But it also lists a cemetery and crematorium.
Social media users joked about the hospital in North Yorkshire.
Others quickly assured people from outside the area that all the services were not “contained within the same siteâ€.
There are several buildings between the hospital and the crematorium, they added.
One person said: “Seriously, is that a real hospital sign in Scarborough? They obviously didn’t think it through.â€
Another said: “Nothing like optimism.â€
While one said that “at least they got the chronology rightâ€.
Another social media user posted: “Those who aren’t local, you’ll be relieved to know all services aren’t contained within the same site.
“There are a couple of schools, a pub, shops, nursery, a residential area and sheltered housing between hospital and crematorium.
“Maternity services are on the other side.
“So, thinking about it, you do actually have the full life cycle contained within a relatively small radius.â€
Meanwhile, a road sign in Wollaston, Northants, has also made a stir – as the street is called Bell End.
Pranksters steal the sign, which features in Britain’s top 10 rudest places, at least once a year.
But fed-up neighbours slammed them as being “patheticâ€.
Council bosses insisted there was no prospect of the road being renamed.
Daily Star has approached North Yorkshire County Council for a response.
