Police sources have pictured the suspected shooter of a horrifying gun massacre in San Jose.
Eight people were shot dead at a rail yard on Tuesday when Cassidy opened fire in San Jose, California, around 6.45am local time.
The gunman has been named as Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority worker Samuel Cassidy, 57, with reports the catalyst was a ‘workplace issue’
Officials said that all of the victims and shooter were employees of the transit agency situated near the city’s airport and were “well known” to each other.
Police also now believe that a huge fire at the gunman’s house around the same time as the shootings was started by Cassidy, reports The Mirror.
One person who survived the attack is still in hospital fighting for their life according to reports.
The victims were found across two buildings on the site and were all identified late on Wednesday as being all male aged between 29 and 63.
Samuel Cassidy turned the gun on himself reportedly as police were closing the net in on him. At no time did police engage in any exchange of fire with the gunman.
Mayor Sam Liccardo told CNN the gunman was no stranger to the people he shot.
The names of the deceased were: Paul Delacruz Megia, Taptejdeep Singh, Adrian Balleza, Jose Dejesus Hernandez III, Timothy Michael Romo, Michael Joseph Rudometkin, Abdolvahab Alaghmandan and Lars Kepler Lane.

“It’s clear the victims and all the colleagues knew the shooter well,” Liccardo said.
Police found hundreds of rounds of ammunition at Samuel Cassidy’s property along with a range of weapons.
Cassidy had worked for the transit authority since at least 2012, when he was listed as an “electro-mechanic,” and was promoted to “substation maintainer” in 2015, according to records posted by the nonprofit website Transportation California.
Local television station KTVU-TV reported that Cassidy had been married for 10 years and divorced in 2009, citing an interview with his ex-wife, who reportedly told the station she had little contact with him over the past decade.
On Wednesday a bomb squad was searching the yard and adjacent buildings after at least one explosive device was found.
After the mass shooting the state’s governor said: “What the hell is wrong with us?”
Governor Gavin Newsom, said: “There is a sameness to this and that numbness, I think, is something that we are all feeling.
“It begs the damn question, What the hell is going on in the United States of America? What the hell is wrong with us and when are we going to come to grips with this?”
