An alcohol-fuelled row between two teachers ended in a fatal stabbing, according to a Russian police report.

Alexandra Osipova, 22, was sharing a room with Alla Filatova, 20, at a summer camp for children where they were both teachers.

On the night of Tuesday, June 22, the pair were drinking after the children had been put to bed and began to argue about which of them was the better teacher.

The disagreement rapidly escalated.

Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Moscow region, told Komsomolskaya Pravda: “The counsellors quarrelled and a conflict began during which a 22-year-old girl took a knife and stabbed the victim in the heart.”

Osipova called an ambulance herself but Alla bled to death at the scene before help could arrive.

She was arrested shortly afterwards at the Dobroye children’s residential holiday camp some 11 miles northeast of Moscow.

A law enforcement source told Moskovsky Komsomolets that according to preliminary investigations: “They had an argument about which of them was the better teacher.

“The row quickly escalated into a conflict and knife fight.”

Osipova told her mother that she killed her friend.

“She said that she did not even remember the reasons for the quarrel, because she was drunk,” according to a source at the camp.

The women were employed as teachers for the school holiday period at Dobroye children’s holiday camp.

Reports say that the children at the camp who had been in bed did not witness the fatal stabbing, which happened in the early hours of the morning.

The teachers had both studied at the same university and knew each other before the deadly clash.

Alla studied physics and mathematics at Moscow State Regional University.

Osipova is currently being questioned by the Russian Investigative Committee which probes serious crimes.
