A child has been left fighting for their life after a shooter opened fire at a birthday party.
Two other children have been injured in the shooting as well as two men, paramedics told CP24 news.
It’s said one child has been transported for urgent care suffering from serious injuries, and a third child victim has minor injuries.
The ages of the children are not known at this time.
Police, fire, and ambulance crews have swarmed the residential street in Etobicoke, Toronto after the horrific incident.
Photos from the scene show the street filled with emergency crews and a large cordon in place.
The shooting took place at the party in a townhome complex in the city’s west end.
Several other patients are also being assessed at the scene.
Toronto Police Operations updated social media over the shooting, with officers being called just before 8pm on Saturday ( 1am GMT).
They said they received reports of shots fired and someone injured at Tandridge Crescent and Byng Avenue.
The injuries are “varying”, according to the police, but “children have been shot” as well as one adult male.
Paramedics have rushed to the incident and are also assisting.
Andrew Collins, a reporter at the scene, tweeted that “Multiple people shot at a birthday party”.
There has been no information released regarding the suspect from emergency services so far.
Further reports suggest two men have been injured at the scene, one male is in serious condition and another with minor injuries, but this has not yet been confirmed by police.
Suburban Etobicoke is situated southwest of Toronto, close to Toronto’s International Airport.
